NEW HOME CONSTRUCTION - Bishop Lane in Linda, CA 95901

We are building 36 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom houses for 36 new Partner Families. These homes will have Solar, be Energy Star Certified, and have Xeriscape Landscaping. Construction on this project is broken up into three segments: homes 1-8, 9-23, and 24-36. Construction of homes 1-8 is already in progress and families are expected to move in by Summer, 2017. Please refer to the outline below of what homes we are accepting applications for.

In addition to the 36 homes, we are also building a 3/4 acre park. There will be a gazebo that collects rain water, solar panels powering off-grid lighting, and a drought tolerant landscape watered by a drip system.

Habitat for Humanity Yuba/Sutter builds GREEN because we believe we have a moral and fiscal responsibility to our families and our community to design and build our homes in an environmentally responsible way.

We joined the US Green Building Council (USGBC) in 2013 and have built 3 LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified homes to date. The USGBC LEED system awards points for energy efficiency and sustainability and has recognition levels at Basic, Silver, Gold and Platinum.

Our 1030 I Street Home in Marysville completed on February 27th received a LEED Gold Rating.

Green Building Strategies and Results

Our goal is to build homes that are energy efficient today and that will remain energy efficient in the future, with ratings that are at least 20% to 25% higher than current California Title 24 standards require. These homes will include photovoltaic solar systems on the roof to supplement electricity. This onsite solar power source can reduce electricity bills by as much as 70%.

Homes 9-23

Habitat for Humanity Yuba/ Sutter is currently accepting applications for these 15 homes.

Construction scheduled to begin in July, 2017

Expected Completion: Winter 2017
